Tuesday is shopping day

Like Saturday, Tuesday is market day but on Tuesdays it is held in the streets in the town, a little closer to the apartment and within walking distance. The weather is cloudy today; I hate to say it, but quite nice to have a break from the continuous hot sun. What you don't get a break from is the heat and the clouds act like a duvet and trap the heat which is a little oppressive.
.
So we had a walk round the market and picked up a couple of bargains; the green dress in the photo and a couple of skirts. The rest of the bargains were fruit and veggies. Tried to buy 2 huge melons for a 1 Euro but the stallholder insisted on giving us 3 which weighed 20lb altogether and nearly broke my arm carrying them back. Also got a carrier bag full of peaches. Yum yum.

Had a lovely, healthy lunch then went for a walk and picked up some provisions from the Supermarket. Then an evening meal on the balcony and a walk to our favourite bar.

What a lovely evening. the sky cleared and out came the sun, although there was still no breeze. Tonight I tried a 'blanco y negro' for the first time. Served in a tall glass, it is a black coffee with icecream on the top. Very nice for a one off but wouldn't want to drink it all the time. Ian went for his favourite which is a 'belmonte'. This is served in a tiny glass and has condensed milk in the bottom with black coffee and brandy mixed together on top of it. Too sweet for me.

We strolled back along the beach .... another lovely day.
